Welcome to my personal page.
My name is Riccardo Baroncelli and I’m a postdoctoral researcher in the fungal bioinformatics, genomics and molecular biology research group led by Michael Thon and Serenella Sukno (http://fgblab.org/). The groups is part of the Genetics group at CIALE (Instituto Hispano-Luso de Investigaciones Agrarias), University of Salamanca (Spain).
We study various aspects of plant pathology, genetics and plant-fungus interactions, using Colletotrichum as a model system. More information about our research lines can be found
The areas more attractive to me are those related to comparative ‘omics applied to evolutionary relationship and host\pathogen interaction.
Main current organisms I’m working with are: Colletotrichum, Fusarium and Trichoderma.
Current Official Research Projects.
- Colletotrichum acutatum sensu lato comparative genomics, populations structure and host preferences
- Colletotrichum lupini diversity, host specialization and evolution; as part of the eip-agri agriculture and innovation project “Prograilive” (Project info)
- Evolution and adaptation of carbohydrate utilization in the Colletotrichum acutatum species complex; Community Science Program (CSP) – DOE Joint Genome Institute (Project info)
- Unveiling the association of Colletotrichum species with soybean anthracnose using histological, populational and genomic approaches. Research Supported by São Paulo Research Foundation (FAPESP – Project info)
